How Does FlightControl® PLUS Compare With Other Sprayable Repellents
FlightControl® PLUS is NOT made from methyl anthranilate (MA) and does not smell like grapes. MA products are effective taste irritants when present on the turfgrass plant. However, products with MA are volatile and degrade due to ultraviolet radiation and microbial activity and are not rain fast. Geese cannot visually recognize MA treated turf from untreated turf. Therefore, geese will not learn to avoid MA treated areas. According to Michael L. Avery, of the National Wildlife Research Center in Gainsville, FL, “ To be effective, a chemical repellent must affect the way that the bird perceives the crop.”
